Google has finally added support for Apple’s HomePod to YouTube Music, allowing subscribers to listen to the service’s songs through their smart speakers via Siri requests.
You can now list YouTube Music in the default services feature
Apple opened up the HomePod to third-party music services in 2020, allowing rivals to use the speaker and giving consumers more choice. After three years, YouTube Music is finally here.
Following tweets about the feature in late September, Google quietly announced on Friday via a post on Reddit that YouTube Music had added this support. Available to all YouTube Premium and Music Premium subscribers worldwide.
To access this feature, users must open the latest version of YouTube Music, then go to Settings, then Connected Apps, then Connect to HomePod. After setup, users will be able to use requests like “Hey Siri, play music on YouTube Music” on her HomePod.
From the Home app, users can[設定]tap your username,[デフォルト サービス]Tap[YouTube Music]You can also set YouTube Music as your default music provider by selecting . If you do this, Siri will assume that her YouTube Music results are preferred, so you won’t have to specify “on YouTube Music” in your request, and your query will be shorter.
YouTube Music joins a fairly small number of music streaming services that offer integration with HomePod. That list includes not only Apple Music, but also Pandora, Tidal, and Deezer.
