WEST FARGO – A new event space has opened at The Lights complex in West Fargo, and a bar is expected to open in the coming weeks.
The Lights Event Center is a rental space located on the first floor of the Envy at The Lights building at 360 32nd Ave. W. and hosts a wide range of activities, including corporate and community events, weddings, receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, and more. It is designed to be possible. and other special gatherings.
The space can accommodate up to 250 people, manager Katherine “Kat” Tefft said Monday, Oct. 23.
“We really want to show off this space,” Tefft said. He will also be responsible for managing the adjacent West Fargo Dive Bar, which is still under construction.
The Wrights Event Center exudes a sleek, minimalist look with black industrial ceiling beams and ductwork, white tile walls, butcher block tables, and polished concrete floors.
Large windows overlook Essentia Health Plaza, which hosts many concerts in the summer and ice skating and hockey in the winter. Parking is available on a multi-level ramp just north of the Envy building.
The event space also has a large multimedia screen for client use, and two garage doors with frosted glass (still to be installed) separating the Lights Event Center from the dive bar. Tefft said the doors provide privacy for those using the event center, while also leaving the option of renting out the bar for events or leaving the garage door open.
Another corner of the hall is perfect for use as a small dance floor for a DJ or small band, or for serving buffet-style meals.
Catering is available only from Holiday Inn Fargo or Spicy Pies, which are part of the EPIC Companies.
“You can also bring in casual meals or full-fledged meals,” Tefft said, including servers.
This facility rents for $200 per hour or $2,500 per day and is available for reservations for holiday events.
“It’s a great space,” Tefft said.
The adjacent dive bar is still under construction, with drywall going up and the bar vandalized. Tefft said the goal is to have it ready to open by mid-November.
The dive bar will have space for more than 70 people and will be set up to create an old-school bar feel, with a classic straight run bar and plenty of stuffed deer heads and antlers on the walls.
Tefft said the bar will have all the standard liquor and cold beer options.
“It’s a classic dive bar atmosphere,” she said. “It’s going to be a fun place.”
If the West Fargo Dive Bar is successful, Tefft said the concept could be considered for locations in Minot and Grand Forks.
