CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Several holiday events are happening in the Coastal Bend this weekend.
Check out all the festive events scheduled for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- A popular monthly event in Lockport, the Austin Street Art Walk is scheduled for the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Austin Street Art Walk is a free, walking, outdoor art experience featuring art galleries, art spaces, and other businesses. Along Austin Street in the Rockport Cultural Arts District. Monthly events include an ever-changing mix of participants and art mediums, including painting, ceramics, jewelry, photography, and textiles, as well as live music, artist demonstrations, and food.
- You are invited to participate in Port A’s favorite holiday tradition, the Lighted Boat Parade. This year, the lighted boat parade begins at 6 p.m., immediately followed by Port A’s first-ever holiday-themed drone show. Spectators are encouraged to watch from Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf, where there will be live holiday music, photo ops, holiday drinks and more. The show can be viewed from anywhere along the marina. The holiday festivities continue at the Palm Social Club, where the Grammy-nominated phenomenon known as Ruben V begins live on the outdoor stage immediately after the drone show. Festival Holiday Cocktails are new to the menu and are sure to be a fun treat.
- Holy Jolly Merry Time on December 8th is from 6pm to 8pm. Ho ho ho, it’s time to jam with Santa! Enjoy a special meal filled with merry cheer, jingle bells, and of course, Santa Claus. For just $25, your child can enjoy:

Christmas Tree Forest was created with the desire to provide Coastal Bend students, teachers, and families with an opportunity to foster a love of reading and promote critical thinking through the exploration of award-winning literature and illustrations. Ta. “Forest of Christmas Trees: A Reading Wonderland” features 30 of his Christmas trees at the South Texas Museum of Art. The tree is decorated by local school groups and organizations to reflect popular children’s and young adult literature. Guests are encouraged to vote for their favorite tree. At the end of the exhibition he will choose three winners. FREE FAMILY DAY in the forest will be held on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In partnership with the Antonio E. Garcia Arts Education Center, all trees and decorations will be donated to families in need at the end of the exhibition. Thanks to HEB, admission to the Museum of South Texas is free during November and December. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring your friends, family, and guests to admire the beautifully decorated Christmas tree inspired by children’s literature. - On Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Santa Paws will be stopping by Earthwise Pets Coples Christi to take photos with the fur kids. Bring your camera and take some cute pictures. This is a free event, but you can donate in donation jars, purchase raffle tickets for feed and rescue missions, or drop off items for donation such as bowls, toys, treats, and food in custom bags. But I’m always grateful. Blankets, towels, leashes, collars, harnesses, beds, etc.
