EDWARDSVILLE — The Edwardsville Public Library, 112 S. Kansas St., will screen “A Taste of Love” by Maya-Camille Broussard via Zoom on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
The Glen Carbon Centennial Library (198 S. Main St., Glen Carbon) will also host events via Zoom.
Join Maya Camille Broussard, star of Netflix’s Bake Squad, owner of Chicago-based Justice of the Pies, and cookbook author, for a demo from the kitchen. Just in time for Thanksgiving, Chef Maya-Camille shares her love of pie, the stories of those who inspire her, and her tips and tricks for creating the perfect pie.
Her first book, Justice of the Pies: Inspiring Stories from Sweet and Savory Pies, Quiches, Tarts and Great People, was published in 2022. In the summer of 2023, Ms. Broussard opened her first Justice of the Pies storefront on the South Side. Chicago is getting rave reviews.
Broussard, who is deaf and hard of hearing, works hard to set an example for young bakers by telling her story of struggle and success, and strives to celebrate the atypical through her baking.
