EDWARDSVILLE — The Edwardsville Arts Center’s annual Holiday Show opens this Friday, Dec. 1, featuring artwork by local and regional artists in time for the gift-giving season.
The gallery will feature jewelry, pottery, scarves, paintings, wall hangings, glass ornaments, small sculptures and more, and some items from the gallery shop will also be displayed in the main gallery, according to a press release.
The opening reception is from 6pm to 8pm and you can get your first pick or visit us during December gallery hours (Wednesday through Friday from 9am to 3pm and Saturday from 11am to 3pm). (3pm) You can also shop inside.
The Edwardsville Arts Center is located on the southeast corner of Edwardsville High School at 6165 Center Grove Road in Edwardsville.

December 3 Nutcracker Tea Party: At 12 p.m., Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, The Nutcracker Prince and Whitley’s Wish, The Nutcracker Tea Party and Lena’s Dance Unlimited Advanced Class will perform selections from this holiday classic. This 45-minute performance is especially suitable for young children from the age of 3 to her 10 who are not yet ready to enjoy the entire ballet experience. Tickets start at $30. Until December 30 Tree Glen Festival: The Glen Carbon Heritage Museum will be decorated with holiday lights, the holiday tree will be lit at special times, and visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tree. Prizes will be awarded. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are accepted. Hours of operation will be Saturdays from 5 to 8 p.m., beginning Nov. 25. Veterinary sweats: The Troy Senior Center is collecting sweatshirts for veterans during the month of November. You can donate new sweatshirts and sweatpants in any color and size, but he’s probably focusing on larger sizes like L, XL, and 2X.
