The Edwardsville Public Library, located at 112 S. Kansas St. in Edwardsville, is planning a “History of Christmas Carols” event Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Christmas History Lesson is led by Karl Kindt, who gives a hilarious presentation on the history of some of the popular Christmas carols you know and love.
The program includes a slideshow explaining the carols, the history of each, the author’s background and intended meaning.
Sometimes they will ask you to sing a verse or two with them.

Until December 30 Tree Glen Festival: The Glen Carbon Heritage Museum will be decorated with holiday lights, the holiday tree will be lit at special times, and visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tree. Prizes will be awarded. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are accepted. Hours of operation will be Saturdays from 5 to 8 p.m., beginning Nov. 25. The museum will not be open on December 24th and December 25th. Glen Carbon Heritage Museum, 124 School St., Glen Carbon.
