COLUMBUS, Ohio — Spooky season is in full swing and trick-or-treaters are putting the finishing touches on their Halloween costumes, but the holiday has become a favorite for adults, too.
In Columbus, our special event costumes go above and beyond.
“And that it is the greatest celebration of fashion creativity and the creativity of our very special community here in the Short North Arts District,” said Betsy Pandora, executive director of the Short North Alliance. There is no doubt about it.”
Highball Halloween is said to be the most elaborate costume party in the nation, and about 10,000 people flocked to the Columbus High School on Saturday to “see and be seen” for the event, now in its 16th year. Fill the streets.
“People come from all over the state to experience Halloween the way we do. It’s a little like Mardi Gras. It’s a little like Carnegie Hall, but with incredible high fashion taking over the high street. ” said Pandora.
What makes this event special is a costume couture fashion show featuring local designers.
“Some of them are traditional fashion designers. Some of them are costume designers. Some of them are some of the most creative people you’ll find around. They’re creating over-the-top couture-style Halloween “We explore our creativity by designing costumes,” Pandora said. “It’s something that really excites and surprises people every time they come and experience it.”
