A Special Molly Christmas takes place in the 1970s. The Murray family gathers at Grandma Jack and Grandma Sue’s house for a family Christmas celebration, where they share their favorite holiday traditions and sing popular Christmas songs. The original script was developed by the WPT Artist Lab, a group of nine local theater makers working to develop innovative projects for the Watershed Public Theatre.
“The Watershed show is a collaboration between artists that strives for diversity and equality in creative endeavors,” said Caleb Finley, a Spring Hill resident and Artist Lab member. “A Special Morley Christmas is a perfect example of that. We (Artist Lab) draw from a variety of backgrounds to create a show that reflects not only each of us at the table, but also those in our community. People who have it have come together.”
In addition to Finley, other members of the WPT Artist Lab are Heather Barnard (Lewisburg), David Fonville, Jessica Fonville (Mount Pleasant), Zach Perkins (Columbia), Christian Randell, Katelyn Rust, Tim Rust, McKenna Steel (Spring Hill). ). A Special Maury Christmas stars director Beverly Mitchell (Columbia) and actors Kay Ayers (Brentwood), Darin Grebel, Lucas McGuire, Daniel Meeks (Spring Hill), Haley Hixson, and Kailen Long.
