STOCKTON — Walmart will open its fifth fulfillment center in California 13 miles north of Manteca, just off the Highway 99/Mariposa Road interchange in Stockton.
The 900,000 square foot facility will allow retailers to process online orders faster and more efficiently across the West Coast.
The plan is to hire 1,000 workers as full-time staff.
This high-tech facility features an automated high-density storage and retrieval system that streamlines a manual 12-step process to just five steps.
