Walmart is getting out of the self-checkout game at multiple stores, but what does that mean for stores around Illinois?
As long as self-checkout lanes exist, we will always have a love-hate relationship with them. These started gaining popularity when the pandemic hit and continued to pop up everywhere as the year went on. Here’s why these are more of a headache than a solution:

- Additional security measures need to be taken

Walmart isn’t the only store reconsidering this renovation. Costco is another chain that is reevaluating its strategies to reduce theft that occurs within its stores. We have removed some checkout lanes and added staff to manage access to and from our stores.
