TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWVO) — Walmart, located on Terre Haute’s south side, is announcing a number of upgrades following the completion of a recent “renovation.”
The work is part of the company’s nationwide effort to upgrade numerous Walmart stores. The store, located at 5555 South US 41, will also feature murals depicting area landmarks by artist Curtis Edwards.
“As a native Midwesterner, the only thing that rivals our skies is the desert sky,” says artist Curtis Edwards, who was inspired by Terre Haute’s skies. “Representing our proud basketball heritage in a landscape of cornfields and covered bridges was challenging but fun.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the store at 8 a.m. Friday to commemorate the completion of the renovation.
Mayor Duke Bennett and the North Central High School Choir will also participate in the celebration.
