In September 2023, REVOLT achieved an unprecedented fusion of creativity and culture with the launch of REVOLT WORLD, powered by Walmart.
In addition to its rich program and experiences, REVOLT WORLD has been developed into a vibrant campus that has been carefully selected to offer participants many engaging experiences. Diverse offerings include dedicated spaces such as a wellness area, podcast village, career center and Walmart Makers Studio, each designed to inspire and empower.
The centerpiece of the event was the Walmart Makers Studio, a space pulsating with artistic energy. Here, participants were encouraged to express their creativity through his five studio-inspired touchpoints. These interactive stations allowed attendees to design their own logos, create new headshots, and even create personalized merchandise. This initiative aligns seamlessly with Walmart’s efforts. A mission to celebrate the talent and innovation of Black makers.
Inside the Makers Studio, a series of installations awaited us. The “Discover Your Passion Pathway” exhibit served as a visual roadmap, guiding attendees to potential careers, resources, and actionable steps to pursue their aspirations. At the “Design Your Logo” station, attendees could choose from a variety of fonts and icons and work with expert designers to bring their dream logo to life.
The event also featured notable guests such as recording artist King Combs and Bree Renee, co-host of REVOLT’s “Black Girl Stuff” series. They explored his Makers Studio and marveled at the wide variety of logos created by attendees.
The “Flex Your Brand” experience allowed participants to apply a newly created logo to a product of their choice. At the same time, the “Get the Shot” setup provided personalized settings for professional headshots.Journey It culminated in an outdoor lounge where participants could rest and recharge before heading out for further festivities.
The retail giant also collaborated with e-commerce platform NTWRK to offer special opportunities to attendees. By downloading the NTWRK app and entering the drawing, participants can win a unique piece of art by an Atlanta-based artist. Artist Paper Frank. His NTWRK, known for its live auctions, virtual shopping festivals, and partnerships with global brands and creators, brought the event to life.
Walmart’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Black creators and culture builders was evident throughout the event. This sense of togetherness and celebration mirrors Walmart Makers Studio’s previous efforts at Rock the Bells Festival, where select modules such as The Sneaker Salon, The Tagging in honor of the Black creators, entrepreneurs, and supporters who have shaped hip-hop’s 50-year legacy.
