But people are primarily drawn to the low prices they find when shopping at any of Walmart’s 26 stores in Idaho. With the prices of various products soaring these days, it’s understandable to want to haggle. But Walmart has quietly rolled out new policies to crack down on shoppers who use coupons to get even cheaper items in their carts.
Walmart’s new coupon policy
Walmart doesn’t have its own coupon program, but it does accept paper coupons from manufacturers. This also includes his internet maker coupons with his GS1 barcode that he prints at home or at work. Stores do not accept digital coupons.
The basic rules have not changed, but a coupon site called “” has appeared.Coupons in the news” noticed that the retailer updated its coupon policy for the first time in six years on September 24. One of the biggest changes they noticed was that if Walmart used a coupon, it would Do not give cash back or apply excess amounts on items that are higher than the item’s price. This includes WIC or SNAP items.
The old policy allowed Walmart, in some circumstances, to apply those excesses to the total amount of your order and give you cash back if any excess remained after the balance was covered.
Better hope the coupon gets scanned
According to Coupons in the News, an image of an internal memo telling employees that cash register software will be updated to accommodate other policy changes has been circulated on the interwebs. For example, if a coupon isn’t scanned, cashiers and their managers can’t overwrite it. The register knows all and ends all.
Additionally, there is a limit of four (4) identical coupons per household, per day, unless otherwise stated on the coupon. The old policy read:
Walmart follows the manufacturer’s restrictions listed on the coupon. Example: He has 4 coupons for the same product.
If you’re a hardcore couponer who didn’t know that Walmart recently made these changes, you can read their full coupon policy here. here.
