Springdale’s Jones Center and Bentonville consulting firm GoodmakerU are partnering on an initiative aimed at increasing the impact of nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas.
The “Raise NWA” program provides 14 months of training to 20 nonprofit leaders from 10 local organizations focused on leadership development, communications, and fundraising. The goal is to help nonprofit organizations in Benton and Washington counties navigate the evolving philanthropic landscape.
Branches Mission Lab, a Bentonville-based nonprofit creative agency, has founded goodmakerU.
“The ‘Raise’ program provides nonprofit leaders with a mindset reset and increased confidence so they can raise awareness, raise funds, and ultimately impact more lives. ” said Jesse Lane, founder and CEO of goodmakerU.
The Walmart Foundation is funding this effort and making the training program available to nonprofits for free.
Angela Oxford, senior manager at Walmart.org, which represents the philanthropic efforts of Walmart and the Walmart Foundation, said: “We are partnering with GoodMaker You and Jones to increase our influence with local government leaders in Northwest Arkansas. We are excited to be able to support the Center.” She said, “I look forward to seeing how strengthening the capacity of local nonprofit leaders will drive even more positive change in our communities.”
The Jones Center will be the partner organization for the grant.
“The Jones Center is honored to participate in this exciting collaboration,” said President and CEO Terry Trotter. “We have a long history of supporting the local nonprofit ecosystem, and support from the Walmart Foundation and goodmakerU allows us to further expand our impact.”
The deadline for nonprofit organizations in both counties to apply for the program is December 15, 2023.
