It’s a lucky day for Main Street Duncan as the candy donations start coming in. It all started with her $500 donation from Duncan’s Walmart on Friday, October 13th.
Billy Stratton, MSD board treasurer and promotion committee chair, said he applied for a regional grant for the Boo Review a few months ago and was notified of the donation.
She said this will help hand out more candy since so many children come to the downtown area.
“This is a really safe place for kids,” she says.
Stratton said they applied for $500 and Walmart granted it.
“I use it to buy sweets,” she said.
Stratton said this donation will help provide even more supplies to many families in the area.
“It will help give candy to businesses that operate downtown,” she said.
Main Street businesses will also be handing out candy to Main Street offices.
Walmart coach Stephanie Davis said she is happy to give back to Main Street Duncan and the community.
“If there is any help they need, please let us know,” she said. “We’re happy to help with anything in the community.”
Walmart coach Nick Lovell said he loves the opportunity to give back to the community every chance he gets.
“Everyone comes shopping with us,” he said. “So we’re fortunate to be able to give back to the community, help our customers, and help everyone.”
Main Street Duncan’s annual Boo Review is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
