Many people go to Walmart for rollback prices and convenience, but the retail giant values the connection to service as essential to customer loyalty. The company, which has long been committed to supporting the U.S. military and its various philanthropic efforts, has chosen to support families who have donated to their homeland.
On Veterans Day, Walmart hosted a headliner with Heroes in Tampa, Florida. The concert featured headliners HER, Imagine Dragons, and Chris Stapleton. Additionally, the event was hosted by Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek. A large portion of the audience included U.S. veterans, active duty military personnel, and their families.
As the event began, a military band played, adding to the celebratory mood. It was more than precision. These moments highlighted a sense of pride, a deep-seated gratitude for service, and an understanding that serving our country is more than just a job. I am honored to be able to fulfill that obligation.
Of course, what people wanted to see was the headliner. Gronkowski and Kostek continued the event casually between sets. From their witty banter to their special guests along the way, the real-life couple actually knew how to engage the audience in between their high-energy performances.
The selection of three performances from different genres made the event appealing to a wide range of people. HER showed off her musical skills. From her smooth R&B moments to her memorable guitar licks, this set had everyone ready for the night. She definitely created new fans in the audience.
During Imagine Dragons, the band got everyone excited and dancing. As one of the top rock bands, he danced and sang along to the songs everyone knows and loves. The message contained in the performance also resonated with the audience. Recognizing the importance of mental health is an essential conversation within the military community.
Rounding out the night was Chris Stapleton. The popular country performer finished off with his iconic Tennessee Whiskey. The set was everything people expected from the award-winning singer and songwriter.
The event was cheered by everyone in attendance, but Walmart’s commitment to the military doesn’t end in one day. Donating his $4 million to various military-centered charities and funding critical programs for these men, women, and their families, this support provides tangible recognition for their sacrifices. It expresses gratitude.
Veterans Day may be a moment when you consciously remind people to thank you for your service. At Walmart, that gratitude is expressed every day.
