The multi-year impact report, produced by Deloitte Canada, also highlights how Walmart Canada supports Canadians by creating meaningful careers, supporting homegrown suppliers and giving back to the community. .

According to Impact Report, the company conducted more than 9 million hours of career-related skills training between 2019 and 2021. From 2019 to 2021, more than 200 employees or their dependents received $2,000 scholarships and reported improved career prospects and positive changes in their self-esteem.
The report also outlines Walmart Canada’s influence at the local level, highlighting its investments in local suppliers to reach more customers and grow its business. From 2018 to 2020, Walmart Canada purchased more than $20 billion in products annually from Canadian-based suppliers.
Walmart Canada’s operations and investments, through its vast supply chain, have helped create or sustain jobs and GDP in this country. For example, in 2018, Walmart Canada indirectly contributed $9.3 billion to Canada’s GDP across its supply chain and supported thousands of jobs in industries such as food manufacturing and agriculture.

- Walmart Canada supported more than 170,000 full-time equivalent jobs in its stores as a result of associate and supplier spending in 2021, either directly or through indirect or induced contributions across the supply chain .
