TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Walmart announced Wednesday that it would “take the inflation out” of Thanksgiving dinner by lowering prices on customers’ favorite brands, and Aldi also announced it would lower prices.
Starting Nov. 1, Walmart will offer two meal options: ready-to-bake and those that must be cooked from scratch, including turkey, ham, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more, the company said in a news release. Ta.
These meal options will be available for purchase online starting November 1st.
The company said many foods will be offered at lower prices compared to last year.
“Savings remain a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season we recognize that customers need to save more than ever before,” John Farner, president and CEO, said in a statement. We will continue to build on the investments we have made.”
Aldi, which recently announced its acquisition of Winn-Dixie, announced it would lower prices on more than 70 holiday food items. The company said customers could see a 50% reduction in prices on some products.
“Thanksgiving is all about gratitude, and we are truly grateful to our many loyal customers around the world,” Aldi President Dave Rinaldo said in a statement. “With inflation still looming, we are offering shoppers extra reassurance to help make the holiday season a time of celebration rather than stress.”
Aldi said the price cuts would continue until the end of the year. For Walmart, it will last until December 26th.
