For the second year, Walmart announced it will lower prices on traditional Thanksgiving dinner staples, including turkey.
On November 1st, Walmart announced that it was “again eliminating inflation to offer customers traditional Thanksgiving meals from their favorite brands at even lower prices than last year.”
Last year, Walmart offered traditional Thanksgiving meals at 2021 prices “in the face of record inflation.”
This year, Walmart says customers will be able to buy favorites, staples and national brands like turkey and ham for less than $1 a pound.
Starting November 1st, meal baskets will be available for purchase online and on the app with one click for pickup or delivery.
“To meet customer needs, Walmart is offering two Thanksgiving meal options at even lower prices than last year: one for customers who want to cook from scratch with ingredients, and one for more convenience. For customers who prefer a ready-to-bake option.”
Walmart says the savings are valid until December 26th.
“Savings remain a top priority for our customers, and we know they need their money more than ever this holiday season,” said John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart US. We look forward to building on the investments we made last year.”
Walmart also said it has “aggressively expanded our holiday gift selection with more items, more exciting new brands and more Walmart exclusives.” The retailer says that includes more than 1,000 new products and more than 500 products exclusive to Walmart.

Aldi has announced that it will be reducing the prices of over 70 ‘Holiday Classics’ by up to 50% on November 1, 2023.
The store says discounts on seasonal favorites like gravy, potatoes, green beans, cranberries and pumpkin pie, as well as staples like butter and flour, will continue through the end of the year.
According to Aldi, this price savings equates to being able to invite three more guests to a holiday dinner “for the same price as a meal for 10 people featuring our most popular holiday dishes.”
“Thanksgiving is all about gratitude, and we are truly grateful to our many loyal customers around the world,” said Dave Rinaldo, president of ALDI.
“With inflation still looming, we’re providing extra reassurance to our shoppers to make the holiday season a time of celebration, not stress. What to serve on your Thanksgiving table? , is just as important as who sits around it, so Aldi offers huge savings on key items and always leaves room for more guests.”
