Looking for like-minded people who care about service and community? Want to give back? You'll find what you're looking for at the Volunteer Action Center, a student-led volunteer organization on campus. The Center brings together many like-minded people who care about service and making a positive impact in the community, and we're currently recruiting new volunteers for the coming year.
Three of the six signature VAC programs focus on mentoring and empowering youth in the NWA region: Passion About Literacy (PAL), Be BOLD, and Dream BIG. Be bold and Dream big We're still looking for volunteers!
Be bold
Be BOLD aims to empower young men through mentorship by encouraging mentors to embrace their unique abilities and overcome adversity. Be BOLD matches mentors from the University of Arizona with young men from JO Kelly Middle School to provide unique programming to foster life skills.

Dream big
Dream BIG matches college girls with secondary school girls to build lasting relationships and encourage growth and empowerment. Topics discussed include body positivity, financial literacy and overall wellness. Dream BIG matches young women from both J.O. Kelly Secondary School and Helen Tyson Secondary School in Springdale with girls from the University of Alberta.
