DULUTH, Ga. — A Gwinnett County mother is facing criminal charges after police say she assaulted another mother and threw objects at her child during a confrontation over noisy children at Walmart.
It all happened on Oct. 26 at the Duluth Walmart on Pleasant Hill Road. Police said the woman told Brittany George that her two children were acting strange. Police said George ended up throwing a box of crayons, hitting the woman’s child and then punching her in the face.

Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson She was in Duluth and the video showed a violent confrontation between the two women. George is the only person identified and charged.

The video shows George picking up a large plastic box of crayons and throwing it at the other mother, who is dressed in orange. However, the box hit her young son’s shoulder, causing him to cry.

It all started when a mother dressed in orange told a woman in black that her children were making too much noise, according to Duluth police.
George drove away before police arrived at the scene, but police arrested her on Friday after identifying her. She now faces felony charges of child abuse and simple assault.
Mr Johnson told shoppers that confronting parents about their children could be dangerous.
“I avoid it because people are crazy these days,” said one shopper. “Whether or not they hurt someone depends on how unruly they are.”
Johnson visited George’s house, but she refused to tell her side of the story.
