A gun was pulled by the Greenville Police Department (GPD) in a Walmart parking lot on Saturday around 6 p.m., and Police Chief Justin Lovborn checked the vehicle’s tag number after officers observed a traffic violation. However, he admitted that he discovered that an older model Honda Accord had been stolen from Colquitt. Georgia and the two people occupying the vehicle were arrested on theft charges by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department.
GPD conducted a felony stop in a Walmart parking lot and an arrest was made. Allen Kennedy, a 27-year-old black man from Camden, was charged with first-degree theft and being a fugitive from justice. Sequoia Adams, a 21-year-old black woman from Thomason, was also arrested on charges of giving a false name to law enforcement and being a fugitive from justice.
Lovvorn praised the officers who handled the situation well.
“I would like to commend the efforts of our officers in successfully locating and arresting two felons and recovering a stolen vehicle,” said Lovvorn. “This shows that our police officers are vigilant in their mission to protect the public every day.”
