To the editor:
The Rotary Club of Bethel is pleased to announce two important holiday proposals for members of our community. All area seniors are invited to the annual Senior Luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at noon at the Rocks Mills Legion Hall. We’re thrilled to be able to restart this popular event after its interruption due to COVID-19. A full ham dinner prepared by friend of Rotary David Nivas in collaboration with Rotarians will welcome all attendees. There will also be entertainment and surprises for everyone!
Rotary will once again sponsor its annual Christmas for Kids program. For more than 30 years, this important community project has helped provide much-needed support during the holiday season to many needy children and families in the MSAD #44 area. Given the continued rise in the prices of basic necessities such as food and fuel, requests are expected to increase again this year.
Those interested in donating to this effort are encouraged to send donations to:
Bethel Rotary Club Christmas for Kids
P.O. Box 471
Bethel, Maine 04217
Requests for assistance may be mailed to the same address or dropped off at the school office in MSAD #44. Please note that assistance is only provided to families residing in the sending area of MSAD #44 and requests will only be accepted from parents or legal guardians of children residing within the primary residence. The Rotary Club is pleased to support families by providing support to children in high school and younger. All requests must include each child’s name and age. You must also include your phone number, email address (if available), and mailing address.
In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Rotarians will once again be collecting donations at Mainly Provisions on Main Street in Bethel over the coming weekends between now and the holidays.
On behalf of the entire Rotary Club of Bethel, I would like to thank the community for the continued generosity and support it has shown to this program over the years.
I hope you have a happy and healthy holiday season.
Sincerely,
Gene Benedict & Scott Hynek, Co-Presidents
Bethel Rotary Club
