The Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that 24-year-old Cody R. Cartwright and 21-year-old Alexander J. Davis Jr. were arrested in connection with the death of 27-year-old Otoniel M. Ordonez Duenas. announced. Cartwright is charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, and Davis is charged with tampering with evidence. Davis and Cartwright are both homeless, according to court documents, and the victim told law enforcement on Thursday, Oct. 19, that Davis and Cartwright were both homeless. Ordonez Duenas — made unsolicited sexual advances toward Cartwright at a homeless campsite. Cartwright became upset and attacked Ordonez Duenas. Davis and Cartwright noticed a concrete block, and Cartwright used the table during the attack. The two men told law enforcement they moved Ordonez and Duenas’ body to another area of the homeless campground. Ordonez-Duenas, of Stuart, was reported missing on Friday night, October 20th. Family members told law enforcement that Ordonez-Duenas was last seen on the night of Thursday, Oct. 19. According to court documents, Davis and Cartwright, who were both homeless, told law enforcement on Thursday, Oct. 19, that the victim, Ordonez-Duenas, had unprovoked sex with Cartwright at a homeless campsite. He stated that he had made an invitation.
Cartwright became upset and attacked Ordonez Duenas.
Davis and Cartwright noticed that Cartwright used a concrete block and a table during the attack.
The two men told law enforcement they moved Ordonez-Duenas’ body to another area of the homeless campground.
Ordonez-Duenas, of Stuart, was reported missing on Friday night, October 20th.
Family members told law enforcement that Ordonez-Duenas was last seen on the night of Thursday, Oct. 19.
His body was found Sunday in a wooded area just north of the Walmart Plaza in Stuart, the sheriff’s office said.
