Dallas ISD District 7 Monthly Updates
Two Dallas ISD schools have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools. This year, two Dallas ISD schools received the Department of Education’s highest honor, the National Blue Ribbon. Her two schools are Trinity Heights TAG School and District 7’s own Rosemont Upper.
The District 7 principal taught the assistant principal in third grade: Principal Louise Kahn Elementary School Principal Marquez met current assistant principal Selene Ramos when they were in third grade. It’s a great story that shows the impact our school has had and the community it has formed.
Construction updates:
- Rosemont Upper Campus: This week, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new contractor to complete the work in Upper Rosemont. This vendor picks up where past vendors left off. So far, we are on track with the schedule we discussed earlier this spring.
- Next phase of the project: Dallas ISD is ramping up the next phase of its bond project. District 7 schools that will begin this process in the coming months include:
- Beginner: Leila Cowart, Lyda Hu, James Bowie, Margaret Henderson, Winnetka, Bishop Arts STEAM Academy.
- secondary:E. Greiner Explorative Arts Academy
Academic ability update: Heading into the school year ending in May 2023, we have made significant progress in closing the achievement gap and comparing ourselves to the state and other urban districts among students in grades 3-8. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are on the right path. .
