BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – It’s October, which means “spooky season” has officially begun in south Louisiana. We’ve compiled a list of all the dates, times, and locations to go trick-or-treating, along with Halloween events in your area. Trick-or-treating hours (if published by city/parish):
- East Baton Rouge Parish: Tuesday, Oct. 31.6pm to 8pm
- West Baton Rouge Parish: Tuesday, Oct. 31.5:30pm – 7:30pm
- Livingston Parish: Tuesday, October 31st.6pm to 8pm
- Tangipahoa Parish: Tuesday, October 31st.5pm to 8pm
- Ascension Parish: Tuesday, October 31st.6pm to 8pm
- Iberville Parish: Tuesday, October 31st.6pm to 8pm
- Point Coupee Parish: Tuesday, October 31st. from 5.30pm to 7.30pm outside the municipalities of New Roads, Morganza, Livonia and Fordoche.
- Morganza Village (Point Coupee Parish): Tuesday, October 31st.5:30pm – 7:00pm
Trick-or-treating safety tips:
1. Plan your route: Before you go trick-or-treating, plan your route in advance. Stick to well-lit areas and areas you know well. Let someone know where you will be and approximately how long you will be leaving.
2. Always visible: Wear reflective material, brightly colored clothing, or add reflective tape to your child’s clothing and snack bags. Carry a flashlight or a flashlight so drivers can see you.
3. Examine the candy: When you get home, check out all the Halloween candy. Discard any unwrapped or suspicious items. If your child has food allergies, be especially careful and check the label for allergens.
Four. Walking on the sidewalk: Remind children to always walk on the sidewalk and be careful when crossing the street. Avoid crossing yards or streets in the dark.
Five. Use a buddy system. Whenever possible, travel in a group with a trusted adult. The buddy system provides safety and makes trick-or-treating more fun.

- Bluebonnet Swamp Haunted Hike: Looking for a fun, family-friendly alternative to commercial haunted houses? Go on the Bluebonnet Swamp Haunted Hike on October 13th, 20th, and 27th and discover snakes, insects, and rats along the trail. , and other “creepy creatures” to learn about. Follow the costumed character to claim his “treasure” and walk through the swampy graveyard to his BREC education building for carnival games and spooky story time.Trails open at 6 p.m.
- Boo at the Zoo: BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will host Boo at the Zoo, a non-scary trick-or-treat extravaganza, on October 21, 22, 28, and 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Invite participants to the zoo. Dress up in your best costume and enjoy his day at the zoo to celebrate fall in Louisiana. Each child in attendance (age: 12 and under) will receive a pre-packed treat bag upon leaving the zoo.
Friday, October 27th
- Trick or Treat at the Gallery: The LSU Museum of Art invites you and your family to trick-or-treat, enjoy art activities, stop by a table of local museum friends, and hear spooky stories in the gallery on Friday, October 27th at 6 p.m. To do.
Saturday, October 28th
- Full Moon Fett: Sneak into Independence Community Park for family fun at BREC’s Full Moon Fett on October 28th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. This free event includes a trunk-or-treat trail, character visits, face painting, music, giveaways, and even more spooky Halloween fun!
- Halloween Day at the Louisiana Museum of Arts and Sciences: Held on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day will feature experiential activities from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Eileen W. Pennington’s Halloween show in his planetarium from 11:00am to 5:00pm, door prizes, and a treasure hunt throughout the museum. The 2022 Fifole His Halloween Parade begins at 4 p.m. and will pass right by LASM as it makes its way down River Road in downtown Baton Rouge.
- Highland Road Observatory’s Annual Spooky Spectrum: BREC’s Highland Road Park Observatory hosts 10 annual Halloween events that explore the strange, supernatural and spooky aspects of astronomy, physics, engineering and more. It will be held on Saturday, March 28th. It will be held from 6pm to 10pm at the Highland Road Lookout.
Sunday, October 29th
- First United Methodist Church Trunk-or-Treat: The event will be held on Sunday, October 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 1255 Camelia Drive, Baker, Louisiana.
Monday, October 30th
- Boo in the Blue Trunk, Treats and Haunted House: The Baton Rouge Police Department is offering a free and safe Halloween experience. It will be held at BRPD Headquarters on Monday, October 30th from 6pm to 8pm. The address is 9000 Airline Highway.

Tuesday, October 31st
- Market Trick-or-Treat and Halloween Costume Contest: Join the Red Stick Farmers Market for a spooky Halloween experience with a market-wide trick-or-treat extravaganza. Children and families are encouraged to come dressed in their best Halloween attire for a chance to win great prizes in our Halloween costume contest. To officially participate in the costume contest, participants must register at her BREADA booth between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 5:15 p.m.

Saturday, October 28th
- City of Walker’s 3rd Annual Fall Festival: This free, family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sidney Hutchinson Park in Walker, Louisiana. It includes a farmers and art market, food trucks, hay rides, pie baking, a children’s costume contest, a mobile barn with farm animals, and an expansive children’s village hosted by a local church. Live music will be provided by the band T Boy & Just Us.
Tuesday, October 31st
- Bubba Harris Trunk-or-Treat at South Park: The annual Halloween event will be held at South Park on Vincent Road in Denham Springs on Tuesday, October 31st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. will be done. There will be hot dogs and drinks, and some will be handing out candy.

Tuesday, October 31st
- Trunk-or-Treat & Night Out Against Crime: The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers will host the 5th annual Trunk-or-Treat & Night Out Against Crime event on Halloween night. It will be held. The event is scheduled to be held at Hammond Westside Montessori, 2600 PFC Matthew E. Wildes Street in Hammond, on Tuesday, October 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be treats, a haunted house, games, safety information, a DJ and more.
