December Parade of Lights: Saturday, 6 p.m., Downtown Boulder, 1200 Pearl St., Boulder. Spectators can enjoy floats created and decorated by local businesses, churches, schools, community organizations and nonprofit organizations. Santa Claus will also appear at the grand finale. The parade begins at 15th and Walnut Streets, heads west to Broadway, north on Broadway (with judging stand at Broadway & Pearl), turns east at Spruce, and ends at 15th and Spruce. The Boulder Harp Ensemble, made up of youth harpists between the ages of 7 and 18, performs winter-themed songs including carols of the bells, excerpts from The Nutcracker, traditional folk such as Shalom and Greensleeves, and light classical selections.
