LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A light snow fell Monday night, a reminder that winter is on the way. Before the lake gets cold enough to freeze, the Lake George Carnival takes it by storm.
On Monday, November 20th, tickets will go on sale for two parts of the 2024 Carnival, starting with the annual Carnival Cook-off. Every weekend during the month-long festival, local restaurants line up to compete to see who can cook up the best chili, chowder, and other piping hot dishes in Shepherd Park. Tickets for the cook-off sell out every year. Lake George Winter Carnival 2024 commemorative mug tickets will also increase in price.
If you don’t want to wait to reserve a spot at a carnival attraction, luckily you don’t have to. Registration is now open for Carnival’s outhouse races scheduled for his two Saturdays, February 3rd and February 17th. Registration fee is $150 per outhouse. Free registration is also available for the Lake George Winter Carnival Polar Plunge.
The Lake George Winter Carnival features a variety of events every weekend in February. Ice events such as snowmobile races are complemented by food, art, and entertainment around the village. The complete schedule has not yet been announced.
