Rocky Mount Police have arrested three people on suspicion of stealing from Walmart.
Veronica Powell, 49, is charged with habitual theft. Anthony Hendricks, 40, is charged with habitual theft. Authorities are holding both in the Nash County Jail without bail.
Turkis Pettway, 29, is charged with possession of stolen property, organized retail theft, possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin. He was issued a $9,000 secured bond and is being held in the Nash County Jail.
At 10:28 a.m. Sunday, Rocky Mount Police responded to a report of a theft at the Walmart located at 1511 Benvenue Road.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a woman came out of the store carrying a large outdoor garbage can. Witnesses reported seeing her leave in a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala.
Police located the vehicle and found it in the 600 block of Hammond Street. After the traffic stop, officers found items stolen from Walmart inside the vehicle.
Police said Hendrix was one of two suspects who broke into Ulta Beauty on Oct. 24, and Pettway was also charged with trespassing, theft after trespassing and criminal damage to property. It was done. Additionally, he was found to be in possession of stolen property and was charged with two counts of organized retail theft and possession of stolen property.
Pettway received a $15,000 bond and authorities booked him into the Nash County Jail. Both suspects later bonded.
