A busy holiday fundraising season is approaching at Edgecombe Community Church. The thrift store will host bi-weekly sales of Christmas clothing and decorations, along with bake sales and raffles. Every Tuesday and Saturday from November 11th to November 25th, the thrift store will sell fresh, homemade goods.
A grab bag table filled with beautifully wrapped Christmas items is also available for a minimum $3 donation to the Boothbay Harbor Fuel Assistance Fund. Christmas baskets will be raffled off for $1 per ticket, as well as beautiful handmade candy cane-shaped pine cones hanging on walls and doors to raise funds for the church’s local mission efforts . The same week will also feature homemade crafts. Items such as children’s sweaters, hats, mittens, scarves and Christmas ornaments are all made by the church’s Busy Hands Committee and will delight shoppers and help enrich their holiday gifts. The thrift store will be closed for winter on November 25th.
The church’s annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale will be held at the church and Ames True Value in Wicasset from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, as part of this holiday fundraising effort. Baked apple, blueberry, rhubarb, pecan, pumpkin and other assorted pies fill the room and guests can purchase them for $6 to $18, depending on size. Delivery is also available, and pies can be pre-ordered by Sunday, Nov. 19, by calling church coordinator and pie sale organizer Marjorie DiVece at 882-6338.
