Maryland — Some grocery stores and pharmacies in Maryland will be open on Thanksgiving, including Giant Food, Harris Teeter and Wegmans.
But many other companies also plan to close, including Walmart and Target, both of which rearranged holiday hours in 2021 to give employees more time off to spend with their families.

As always, if you need an extra pound of butter or onions to cook your Thanksgiving meal, we recommend calling ahead to make sure they’re open.
Albertsons: Select stores open from 6 a.m. to at least 3 p.m.
Aldi: All stores are closed.
BJ’s Wholesale Club: All stores closed.
Costco: All stores closed.
CVS: Approximately 80 percent of stores are scheduled to close.
Food Lion: All stores close at 3 p.m. However, Virginia stores in the Roanoke, Lynchburg, Blacksburg, and Charlottesville areas will close at 4 p.m. Stores will be open regular hours on Black Friday.
Giant Food: All stores, including regular 24-hour stores, are open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pharmacies are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the exception of 24-hour stores, which follow the same policies as grocery stores.
Harris Teeter: Stores open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lidl: All stores will be closed.
Rite Aid: Hours vary by location, but most retail stores will be open, but pharmacies will be closed.
Safeway: Most stores will be open.
Sam’s Club: All stores closed.
Save big: Stores are open, but hours may vary by location.

Target: All stores are closed.
Wet Markets: Stores will be open, but hours will vary by location.
Trader Joe’s: All stores closed.
Walgreens: Most stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 24-hour stores and pharmacies will be open as usual, but some pharmacies may have changed their business hours.
Walmart: All stores closed.
Wawa: Most stores will operate as usual.
Wegmans: Closes at 4 p.m.
Whole Foods: Hours vary by store.
