EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Halloween is just around the corner and Borderland definitely knows how to enjoy and take advantage of this celebration.
On Tuesday, October 31st, there will be several events in the area that will give you a spooky atmosphere that the whole family will love.
Some of them are listed below.
El Paso events:
- El Paso County:
— The Enrique Moreno County Courthouse will be open to all trick-or-treaters during business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Trick-or-treaters can receive a list of all participating offices from court security at the first and third floor entrances to the courthouse. - Amistad:
— The organization will host a free carnival at 3210 Dyer St. on Halloween from 3 to 6 p.m.
— Attendees can enjoy an afternoon and evening of fun with carnival games, prizes, and a haunted house. - El Paso Community College:
— The EPCC Northwest Counseling Department, located at 6701 S. Desert Blvd. on EPCC Campus Northwest, will host a Halloween costume contest, “haunted house” and other Halloween activities from noon to 4 p.m.
— Free and publicly available.
— Plus, the first 50 attendees will receive a special edition of Hocus Pocus. - Downtown El Paso:
— Hotel Paso del Norte, Autograph Collection opens its doors at 5 p.m. for early arrivals and hosts a frighteningly fun All Hallows Eve Party. The spooky soirée begins at 7pm until 2am witching hour at El Mirador.
– schedule: 7pm: Spooky Chess (a standard chess game with a Halloween vibe) hosted by El Paso Chess Nerds. 9 pm: Performance by Mary and the Marionette Band. 10pm: Costume contest.
— Additionally, prices vary from $5 for Cazadores Blanco and Reposado Tequila to $3 for Tecate and $3 for Tacos. - Cielo Vista Mall:
— The mall will host a free mall-wide Halloween trick-or-treat event from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
— Families can collect and enjoy treats from retailers throughout the mall while supplies last.
Las Cruces events:
- Las Cruces Fire Department:
— Firefighters will be giving away free glow-in-the-dark necklaces at Las Cruces Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
— Additionally, on Halloween from 2 to 5 p.m., trick-or-treaters can stop by Fire Station No. 1 and take photos with Las Cruces firefighters.
