They then plan to return Nov. 14 with Geauga court attorneys to help seniors fill out and notarize documents. Reservations will be approximately 30 minutes on the day.

Requires aluminum ramp and lift
The Guiaga County Department of Aging’s Home Safety Program is in need of used aluminum wheelchair ramps and lifts for local seniors.
Some local residents have installed aluminum ramps and lifts in their homes, but no longer need them. The Guiaga County Department of Aging’s Home Safety Program receives constant calls from seniors who need ramps or elevators installed in their homes.
New ramps and lifts are very expensive, and Medicare won’t pay for renovations, so home safety programs can’t keep up with the number of ramps and lifts needed.
If you have an aluminum ramp or lift that you would like to remove and donate to help local seniors, please call the Ghiaga County Department of Aging at 440-279-2130.
Volunteers needed to deliver meals
The Georgia County Department of Aging needs food delivery drivers in the Chardon area on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The meal route begins at the Chardon Senior Center, 470 Center St., Building 8, Chardon.
The home-delivered meals program delivers hot, nutritious lunches to local homebound seniors Monday through Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Department of Aging is seeking community agencies, organizations, churches, and individuals 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license who are interested in volunteering for this program. The training will include a documentation department regarding the aging home delivery meal volunteer paperwork and a short orientation on the program. Volunteers can deliver meals weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed/instead.
