The last weekend of October has arrived. This weekend is full of fun events. Of course, with Halloween just a few days away, there are plenty of Halloween-themed events happening in and around Huntsville, so be sure to check out our “Halloween Ends” guide for those events.

live music
Huntsville has truly become a mecca for live music events over the past year or so, with multiple shows of various genres seemingly every weekend. This weekend is no exception, and these are just a few of the live shows taking place this weekend.
- Jason Isbell: Oct. 27, Orion Amphitheater, 7 p.m. Jason Isbell, one of the first artists to perform at Orion, is returning to Rocket City.
- Brother Kane: Oct. 27, Mars Music Hall, 8 p.m. Brother Kane, the Alabama boys turned rock stars, are celebrating their 30th anniversary.
- Beastie Goys: Oct. 28, Mid-City Camp, 7 p.m. Huntsville’s Beastie Boys tribute band, The Beastie Goys, will perform live on stage at The Camp.
- Blinding the Sky: Oct. 28, Stove House, 7 p.m. This duo from Alabama is so talented that they perform a free show on the Food Garden Stage at Stovehouse.
- Dawn Osborne Band: Oct. 28, VooDoo Lounge, 9 p.m. Hear the super talented Dawn Osbourne at our favorite music venue.
Sports + Fitness
There are plenty of options for sporting events, from college soccer to pro hockey to a great trail run this weekend.
- Alabama A&M Women’s Soccer: Oct. 27, Bulldog Soccer Field, 3 p.m. Cheer on the Bulldogs soccer team as they take on arch-rival Alabama State University.
- Huntsville Havoc Hockey: Oct. 27, Propst Arena, 7 p.m. The Huntsville Havoc will open the 2023-24 season against Pensacola.
- Spooktacular 5K & Monster Mile: Oct. 28, Downtown YMCA, 8 a.m.; Fleet Feet Huntsville & Madison invites runners, walkers, ghosts and goblins of all ages to participate in the Spooktacular 5K Run and Monster Mile.
- Camp Sweat 440: October 28th, Mid-City Camp, 8am. This is a free workout led by Sweat 440.
- Oak Park Challenge Trail Run: Oct. 29, Oak Park Rec Center, 8 a.m.; Take on an 11-mile trail run through scenic Montesano Mountain.

Whether it’s an original ballet performance, a stand-up comedy show, or a fall festival, we’ve got you covered.
- Huntsville Ballet: October 27-29. Dream Theater, Friday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. Saturday, October 28th, 2pm and 7pm. Sunday, October 29th, 3pm.
- John Leap: October 27-29, stand-up live, Friday. Saturday 9pm, 9pm 6:30pm, 8:45pm, Sunday 7pm. John Leap is a nationally touring comedian whose modern country perspective has attracted legions of fans in comedy clubs, on television, and in the movies.
- Fall Festival: Oct. 28, Toyota Field, 5 p.m. Celebrate fall at Toyota Field with trick-or-treating at the Bill Penny Toyota Concourse. The Toyota Outfield Experience will be held from 5-7 p.m. and will feature the following screenings: haunted Mansion Follow us on the video board at 7:15 p.m.
- Railyard BBQ Brawl: Oct. 28, Old Black Bear Brewing, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Come join us at the 3rd Annual Railyard BBQ Brawl in downtown Madison. Enjoy live music, craft beer, and delicious food.
- Spooky Space Spectacular: Oct. 28, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, 5 p.m. This year’s family-friendly event has a solar system theme and includes hands-on activities, face painting and a “Spooky Skies” mini-show in the planetarium.
