Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is approaching. To celebrate, local artists will hold an event, “Remembering our Loved Ones,” on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at 157 Holy Way in Los Gatos.
Artist Olga Enciso Smith and her son Brian M. Smith use typical crafts such as fresh marigolds, corn stalks, candles, gourds, and handmade skeleton dolls to create a collection of Latin American traditions. built a special ofrenda, a sacred altar.
pumpkin sale
The Los Gatos History Club will hold a pumpkin sale on Oct. 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pumpkins can be picked up at 123 Los Gatos Blvd., with proceeds going to History Club facilities and local charities supporting women. and Santa Clara County children.
Street cleaning scaled back
This season, the autumn leaves may stay on the ground for a longer period of time.
In a memo to residents, the town said the town’s street cleaning trucks have been deteriorating since late August. The Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department said it will return to its normal schedule once the street sweepers are repaired and back in service.

Calling all artists: Entries for the Greater Bay Area Open Fine Art Competition and Exhibition close on October 20th.
The juried competition is sponsored by the Los Gatos Art Association and aims to promote art and artists in the greater Bay Area, from Sonoma to Monterey. Artists are encouraged to interpret this year’s theme “Possibility/Reality” in their own way.
