Phoenix (AZ Family) — Arizonans can now save a little money at the pump with a new app feature from a popular gas station chain.
QuikTrip is currently offering customers 25 cents off every gallon of fuel and 5% off most in-store purchases when they use the new QT Pay feature available on the QuikTrip mobile app.
What is QT Pay? It's a payment method linked directly to a customer's checking account. QT says there are no bank holds or checking fees, and there are no annual or monthly fees.
If you sign up, you can pay for your fuel by scanning the QR code at the pump, or have the cashier scan it for you if you're paying in store.
“QuikTrip is excited to launch QT Pay and give our customers the opportunity to save money on everyday purchases in stores, on the QT app and at gas stations,” said Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager for QuikTrip. “QT Pay is easy to set up and use.”
QT said the company does not access, store or store customers' bank account information. Most customers can link their accounts using Plaid, a financial platform that connects users to financial apps and services. If a bank isn't available through Plaid, they can manually verify their account within one to three business days.
More information about QT Pay is available online at quiktrip.com/qt-pay/.
