Queen Kaahumanu Center has announced the lineup of events for October, including clothing donations for Lahainaluna students, opportunities to enjoy Kamaaina Night, Keiki Club, Miss Maui Pageant, Holoholo Halloween and more .
Queen Kaahumanu Center and Erie Formal Wear Drive – October 20th and 27th from 4 to 8 p.m.
Last Friday, the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center and Ellie’s Formal Wear opened a formal and casual event to provide Lahainaluna High School students with formal and casual wear for several upcoming events, including the Senior Ball and Junior Prom. We have started working on accessories. Formal wear donations can be made at Queen Kaahumanu on Fridays, October 20th and 27th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Sunday, October 22nd from 3:00pm to 5:00pm during the Miss Maui USA Pageant.・Applications will be accepted at the center court.
Kamaaina Night – October 20th from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Queen Kaahumanu Center and Pacific Media Group will host Kamaaina Night featuring the Kalama School Ukulele Band and Jordan Soon, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Wailuku, Maui. Jordan got his first chance to take the stage in 2016 and has been singing professionally ever since. He released his first single “Flashlight” in 2020 and most recently “He Will Carry You” in 2023.
Keiki Club – October 21st from 10am to 11am
Keikis are invited to learn Hawaiian with Morning Manao’s Kumu Luana in the Keiki Play Area. Space is limited, so reservations are required.
Miss Maui USA and Miss Maui Teen USA Pageants – October 22 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Queen Kaahumanu Center announces the Miss Maui USA and Miss Maui Teen USA 2023 Preliminary Pageants! Twelve Maui Wahine will take to the stage on Sunday, October 22nd from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. , and compete for the coveted titles of Miss Maui USA + Miss Maui Teen USA, and Miss Valley Isle USA + Miss Valley Isle Teen USA. These four title holders will represent Maui in the Hawaii state competition next February.
Hollow Halloween – October 31st from 5pm to 7pm
Join us at the Queen Kaahumanu Center for a spooky Halloween event filled with candy, costume contests, prizes, and more. The first 50 children to participate will receive a free Jamba Juice smoothie coupon. Children ages 0-13 can pre-register for the costume contest here. The winner will receive a Fun Factory gift card, a $25 check sponsored by HawaiUSA Federation Credit Union, and other goodies.
