Nagpur: International gaming and betting app kingpin Rakesh Rajkot alias RR has been co-accused along with Sontu Jain in a case of duping Rs 580 crore from a city-based businessman. RR is wanted in cases registered against him in Delhi and Gujarat. A senior official said that the process of issuing surveillance notices to the RRs currently holed up in London has begun. Police said RR, who owns the gaming and betting app Diamondexchange.com, was guiding Songtu’s transformation from a small company. After Sontu’s rapid rise, he created his two online apps for himself and started spreading his network from Dubai to Gondia in Vidarbha before the Nagpur police arrested him. Police have so far seized valuables worth around Rs 350 crore from Sontu and his family. On Saturday, Sontu appeared before a magistrate court along with radiologist Dr Gaurav Bagga and bank manager Ankesh Khandelwal, which extended his police custody till October 27. Police said Bunty Kothari was arrested on Sontu’s orders for allegedly concealing valuables taken from a bank locker to avoid police seizure of Rs 400 crore. Khandelwal illegally moved valuables from four lockers belonging to Sontu. Three new members have joined the family. The duo, Sonthu, his brother Dheeraj, wife Shraddha and mother Kusumbhai were booked in a new case two days ago. Bagga and his wife Garima were also booked and allowed Khandelwal to open three lockers and remove Sontu’s valuables. Police recovered valuables worth over Rs 3 billion, including Rs 1.35 billion in cash from the Bagga couple. CP Amitesh Kumar said a team of senior bank officials from Nagpur had visited the Gondia branch and were assisting the police in busting Khandelwal and his aides who had opened the locker. Sontu moved the valuables without the owner’s presence.
