I had a dream that this column would be the best thing I'd ever written. Everyone would be like, “Awesome!” This would be the pinnacle of quorum, or queer columns. But like most dreams, it vanished when I woke up. Instead, this will be a short column primarily to transition you into the event list below. Next week, I might bring my dormant ambitions into the real world. For now, he's still sleeping. Lol.

Local Queer ATX is teaming up with mixer maker Jigsaw Dating to host its first-ever LGBTQ-only event, with the goal being to provide a safe space to socialize, complete with custom conversation cards and Jigsaw's “signature icebreaker bingo.”

Speed-read James Baldwin's classic, “Tell It on the Mountain,” and join the Austin Public Library's LGBTQIA+ Book Club, which also has a virtual option if you can't join in person.

Every first Thursday of the month, host Ivy Le and special guests will open up the stage to comedians who are queer comedians and need a safe space to practice their LGBTQ material without reeking of homophobia. However you choose to participate in this queer comedy open mic, you're sure to have a great time.
