A vehicle traveling on Highway 40 was stopped for a traffic violation. Officers searched the vehicle and found marijuana inside. The driver was arrested and the state vehicle tax was confiscated.
Thursday, November 23rd
possession of marijuana
A traffic stop was initiated on Echo Dam Road for speeding. While the vehicle was stopped, an odor of marijuana was observed coming from inside the vehicle, and an investigation was conducted to determine the cause. During the search, large quantities of marijuana and THC products were discovered on the user. The driver was issued a summons for a drug offense and released.
Sunday, November 27th
theft
Deputies responded to a report of a theft at the Walmart on Landmark Drive. The complainant reported seeing two people hiding groceries under their clothing. The men were arrested after they exited the store and crossed the checkout area. Upon inspection, the hidden items were discovered and the two were arrested. In addition, multiple fake driver’s licenses were discovered as a result of the search. Both individuals were subsequently processed and booked into the Summit County Jail without incident.
Monday, November 28th
Stolen vehicle recovery
Two people were arrested after a stolen vehicle was found parked in the Walmart parking lot on Landmark Drive and subsequently charged with various drug offenses, theft, and possession of both a stolen vehicle and license plate. He was indicted.
Tuesday, November 28th
theft
Authorities were called to the Walmart on Landmark Drive after a report of a theft in progress. The suspect left the scene after the incident, but officers quickly arrested him. Upon examination, the suspect was found to be in possession of a stolen Adidas jacket and was found to have 13 outstanding warrants. He was then arrested on charges of retail theft and an active warrant.
Thursday, November 30th
drunkenness
Authorities were called to respond to a reported disorderly conduct and potential domestic violence (DV) incident in Camas. After gathering information and evidence, it was determined that there were no elements to support domestic violence. However, one male was arrested for intoxication and smoothly transported to the Summit County Jail for processing.
Saturday, December 2nd
Drunk driving
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident on Matterhorn Drive and transported the driver, the sole occupant, to PKMC with minor injuries. Suspecting that alcohol may have been an influence at the time of the accident, the sheriff’s office obtained the driver’s consent and conducted a blood sample at PKMC. The driver was later issued a DUI citation and released.
Sunday, December 3rd
possession of marijuana
A westbound vehicle on Interstate 80 was stopped after a registration check revealed it was uninsured. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed the odor of marijuana and based on probable cause a thorough search of the vehicle was conducted. This search led to the discovery of a variety of his THC products and paraphernalia. The driver, the sole occupant, was cited for both lack of insurance and possession of marijuana.
