Multiple law enforcement personnel responded to a shooting at a Walmart in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek on Monday night. Walmart is located at 3360 Pentagon Blvd. At this time, police have not confirmed how many people were shot or if anyone was shot. I was injured. The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. The Beaver Creek Police Department said the building was secured and cleared. Police said there is no active threat to the community at this time. NBC affiliate WDTN confirmed that Miami Valley Hospital is waiting for victims with serious injuries, while those with less serious injuries will be taken to Soin Medical Center. WDTN Beavercreek is the largest city in Greene County, Ohio by population. Witnesses outside Walmart on Monday night said they saw 30 to 40 police cars rush to the scene. The shooting scene is about a half-mile from Wright State University. The shooting scene is the same one where a Fairfield man was killed in the summer of 2014. That’s when John Crawford, 22, picked up a BB gun. It was being sold inside the Walmart store, where another shopper called 911, claiming there was a shooter. Crawford was shot and killed by police inside the store. Surveillance video later showed Crawford staring at the toy gun and not pointing it at anyone. The two officers involved in the shooting were not charged.
