Oak Street Po’Boy Festival
The festival will feature creative and traditional po-boys and other items from more than 30 vendors, including restaurants on Oak Street and booths lining blocks from South Carrollton to the Levee. There will also be multiple live music stages, art vendors, children’s activities, and more. Melissa Weber, also known as DJ Soul Sister, will sit down with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic keyboardist Danny Bedrosian on Wednesday, November 15th. Weber will also be speaking with vocalist Dawn Silva, who has performed with Sly and the Family Stone and Parliament-Funkadelic, on Friday. , November 17th. Louisiana’s newest Poet Laureate, Allison Peregrine, will appear at the conclusion on Saturday, November 18th. Ivan Neville & Friends, George Porter Jr. & The Running Pardoners, Camille Beaudoin and more will perform at The Sugar Mill on Saturday, November 18th at the Alcohol Free Festival. Drag performers Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolochkova record a live version of their podcast “The Bald and the Beautiful” where they talk about beauty and entertainment and interview guests. The famous Parisian ensemble is on tour in the United States and will stop in New Orleans on Monday, November 13th at 7:30 p.m. The program includes works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Beethoven. During his career, Derek Hough has done everything from tap to ballroom dancing to Latin dancing. Chicago-born pianist and vocalist Alexis Lombre has played in the bands of Jon Batiste, Georgia Ann Muldrow, and Jamila Woods, but more recently, she has become a progressive, genre-fluid bandleader in her own right. It is becoming more and more recognized nationwide. Wits End Brass Band, Phoebe’s Greek Band, Los Gilos, Los Nortenos del Sur, Sabine McCullough, and Chris Acker perform relief work with Palestinians at BJ’s Lounge on Thursday, November 16th Appear in a charity show to support. There will also be food, art, child care for children and other vendors. Music starts at 6 p.m., and admission is a suggested donation of $10 to $20 (no one was turned away due to lack of funds). Funds raised will be donated to the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and other organizations.

Seattle-based indie-folk band The Head and the Heart released their fifth studio album, Every Shade of Blue, last year and will spend much of 2023 playing major venues. He spent his time performing on tour. The band once again sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater, performed a co-headlining tour with The Revivalists in New Orleans, and held their own two-day festival in Napa, California. Zach Toscani
Comedian Zach Toscani rose to prominence on the lively scene in Portland, Oregon, before relocating to Los Angeles, joining comics David Goboly, Sean Jordan, Bree Pruett and Mike Malloy in a popular weekly stand. He co-planned the Up program “Faded.” In addition to regular touring, Toscani is a frequent guest on the podcast “All Fantasy Everything” with Ian Carmel, Goboly, and Jordan. In recent years, Toscani has been on a house show tour, performing in backyards, homes, and even large venues across the country.
