MCALLEN, Texas (VALLEY CENTRAL) – A man has been arrested for stalking after allegedly following his ex-girlfriend to Walmart and making multiple phone calls, documents show.
Alfredo Castro was arrested by McAllen police on Monday on suspicion of stalking.
His ex-girlfriend told police that Castro had called her more than 50 times in the past three weeks, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Valley Central. On Monday, a woman called police saying Castro had followed her to Walmart.
She said Mr. Castro pulled up next to her in the parking lot and tried to talk to her about their relationship. She said the woman asked him to leave and that she didn’t want to talk to him.
Castro then tried to approach her inside the grocery store, the complaint states.
The woman said Mr. Castro had a history of showing up at her place of work to discuss their relationship.
She told McAllen police she has filed multiple harassment lawsuits outside the Mission system and also found a GPS device installed by Castro in her car.
Mr. Castro was released Monday on $10,000 bail.
