The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation’s 23rd Annual Golf Classic raised more than $161,600 for students and programs. The “Party in Paradise” themed tournament held at Star Ranch Golf Club on October 2nd was a sold-out event with 36 participating teams and 144 golfers in attendance.
“We are so grateful to everyone who came out to support the Partners in Education Foundation and Round Rock ISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Hafed Azaiz. “The Foundation is truly an asset to the district. They champion public education and help put the best resources in the hands of students. They provide support for various programs at events such as the Golf Classic. In addition to raising funds, it also helps unite the community toward a common goal of student success. There is no doubt that the support of the Foundation, and by extension the community, is making a real difference in Round Rock ISD. Masu.”
The title sponsor was HPM, with a $10,000 donation. Sponsors for the ACE team included Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, McCreary Veselka Bragg & Allen PC, and VLK Architects.
Further contributing to the event’s fundraising success were 19 underwriting sponsors who sponsored on-course games, lunch and more. More than $19,000 was donated by businesses and families in the Austin and Round Rock areas who purchased hole sign sponsorships around the course.
“The last few years have been challenging as the needs of our students, staff and teachers continue to rise,” said Round Rock ISD PIE Foundation Executive Director Marianne Reap. “But what remains constant is our desire for excellence in the education provided to all students. With the support of so many generous community partners and members of the Foundation Board of Directors, the Foundation We can continue to supplement and provide support for innovation in the classroom and the basic emergency needs of families. It will take all of us working together to support public education.”
