A five-member committee of doctors from the Government Medical College (GMC-Rajamahendravaram) on Saturday recommended that former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu be kept in a “cool environment” due to his current health condition.
The committee was constituted by the Government General Hospital (GGH) and headed by General Surgeon Dr. Shiva Kumar. His other four doctors are Associate Professor Markandeyur, Dr Sunita, Dr Mahindra and Dr Himaja.
Dr Shiva Kumar, who held a joint press conference with Deputy Inspector General (Prisons and Coastal Andhra) Ravi Kumar here on Saturday, said Naidu’s health condition was stable. However, considering his health condition, he needed a “cool environment.” “We have recommended to the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail Authority the need for a cool environment for Mr. Naidu in the prison,” he said.
However, the doctor said the committee could not recommend the facility’s exact measures to ensure a cool environment for Mr Naidu inside the prison as it was the job of the prison authorities.
Submission to court:
Following the recommendations of the doctors, Ravi Kumar said the prison authorities have submitted their recommendations to the court and higher authorities of the Prisons and Correctional Department.
“Mr. Naidu said he is determined to take any prescription only after consulting his doctor. By Saturday, Mr. Naidu has become physically active,” said Dr. Shiva Kumar. said.
Naidu’s son Nala Lokesh and his wife Bhuvaneswari met him on Saturday during his mulakot at the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail.
