BENTON HARBOR — OutCenter’s annual PrideFest is going on tour next year.
PrideFest is a community celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride featuring food, music, live entertainment, artists, games, and more. In 2024, PrideFest will be held in three different towns in southwest Michigan from 4 to 8 p.m. on three weekends.
The first Cass County Pridefest will be held June 8 at the Dowagiac Library Pavilion.
The 2nd Annual Mishiana Pridefest will be held June 15th at Niles Riverfront Park.
The 3rd Annual Twin Cities Pridefest will be held June 22 at Dwight P. Mitchell Park on Main Street in Benton Harbor.
“PrideFest is all about community. It’s about bringing together LGBTQ+ people, families, and allies in a fun and uplifting environment. It’s a celebration of the incredible progress we’ve made, and it’s about equity. It’s also a time to come together for the betterment of our community. Southwest Michigan’s DNA is deeply rooted in these events. We embrace our community’s local festival culture because Pride events are part of that culture. Just as queer people have always been here and belong here, Pride events belong here too,” said Gerik Nasstrom, Program Director and Event Coordinator.
