A small number of the aforementioned applications come pre-installed on OnePlus Open to provide the best user experience. We believe this approach strikes the right balance between maintaining product stability and security while providing a novel and seamless user experience. ”
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time OnePlus has partnered with Facebook. In fact, this collaboration dates back to 2020, when the OnePlus 8 series and OnePlus Nord shipped with Facebook apps and services and there was no direct option to remove them. This decision was criticized by users. In response, the company issued a statement confirming that its successor, the OnePlus 8T, will not include Facebook-related services, and that Netflix will be the only third-party app pre-installed on the device.
Things are a little different this time. It’s very important for OnePlus to provide a seamless social media user experience on its first foldable smartphone, and given that Facebook is one of its biggest platforms, optimizing it for OnePlus Open is a positive step. Samsung is also working with brands like Meta and Google to optimize apps for its flip-and-fold smartphones.
