The man who police say injured four people in a shooting at an Ohio Walmart and then shot himself has been identified as a 20-year-old from Dayton, Ohio.
According to the Beavercreek Police Department, Benjamin Charles Jones opened fire at a Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio, on Monday around 8:30 p.m.
He injured four adult victims, three women and one man, who were taken to local hospitals. As of Tuesday, three of the victims were in stable condition. The fourth person remained in critical but stable condition.
All four victims were shoppers and were located throughout the store at the time of the shooting.
“We are saddened by what happened at our Beavercreek, Ohio store. The situation remains evolving and we are working closely with law enforcement authorities on scene,” Walmart said in a statement.

What happened in the Walmart shooting?
Police said Jones entered the store around 8:35 p.m. At 8:36 p.m., police said they received a report of a man with a rifle inside the store. Jones began firing as police began gathering information.
First responding officers arrived at Walmart at 8:39 p.m. and heard gunshots. As he made his way through the store, he found Jones dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Body camera footage played during the press conference shows the first responding officers rushing into the store and asking employees where the shooter was and what he looked like.
As officers enter the Walmart, gunshots are heard. As he turned the corner, he saw the gunman’s body in his vision center.

Who is Benjamin Charles Jones?
For now, police are gathering information about Jones. They haven’t released much information about him, but they said he was originally local to the area, but he just returned from Las Vegas.
Alisha Ring, who was shopping when the shooting occurred, told the Dayton Daily News that the gunman was a young white man who was “tall, thin, and appeared to be on a mission.” He said it was a man.
Police said Jones was in possession of a Hi-Point .45 caliber carbine.
Jones lives in Dayton, and police are cooperating with investigators and searching his home, Dayton police said. statement.
