Get your Halloween festivities started with the “Creepy Crawly Halloween” event at the Jacksonville Public Library. The Anniston Museum of Natural History is set to unleash some of its most intriguing and, let’s admit it, spine-chilling creatures so that all ages can explore nature’s strangest little monsters. Even better, it’s completely free to attend and refreshments will be provided to keep you energized while you explore the spooky world of these fascinating creatures.
Not-so-haunted trail trekking
– Date: October 24th, 6pm to 8pm
– Location: Jacksonville Community Center
– Admission: $5 for children under 12, free for adults
Join us for the “Not-So-Haunted Trail Trek” at the Jacksonville Community Center on Tuesday, October 24th from 6-8 p.m. Prepare for a spine-tingling adventure as you follow Alexandria Road to the Creekside Trail and return to the Community Center via the Chief Radiga Trail. Along the way, expect spooky sights, thrilling games, and, of course, a treasure trove of sweets. The best part? Admission is only $5 for children under 12 and adults enjoy free. In case of rain, the event will be held indoors at the community center.
Haunted Jacksonville Walking Tour

For those looking for a hair-raising experience, the Haunted Jacksonville Walking Tour is a must-see event. A local history expert will guide you through Jacksonville’s chilling history in the Downtown District. Please note that this tour is intended for ages 13 and up due to the intensity of the story, making it a thrilling late-night adventure for teenagers and adults. Best of all, it’s completely free. To register, head to the ramped south entrance of the Jacksonville Public Library Annex at 8:30 p.m. Don’t worry if your tour group is full. You can register for the next available tour or any subsequent tour. Tours typically last about an hour with two guides leading separate groups, and registration is open until midnight. Additionally, the library provides hot cocoa and coffee for all participants to enjoy before and after their spooky tour.
A truly “square” Halloween party

The Halloween season will conclude with a “Very ‘Square'” Halloween Party on October 28th from 5pm to 7pm in Downtown Jacksonville’s Public Square. This event is a collaboration between Jacksonville Merchants on the Square and Jacksonville Parks & Recreation and promises an evening filled with trick-or-treating, games, spooky stories, and more. A great way to get into the Halloween atmosphere and create memorable moments.
