Nominations are now open for the Robert E. Yeager Active Learning Award from the Children’s Museum of Iowa in Coralville. The award, in memory of Dr. Robert E. Yeager, professor emeritus at the University of Iowa, recognizes outstanding educators who excel in creating dynamic and engaging learning environments for their students.
Active learning is the foundation of children’s development and education. The Iowa Children’s Museum celebrates active learning through this award, which honors educators who are committed to fostering a culture of imagination, creativity, discovery, and exploration in the classroom.
Winners will receive:
- $100 gift card for classroom essentials and needs.
- Field trip to the Children’s Museum of Iowa and museum admission pass
- Original art prints created by local artists
- Family Day Educator School/Organization Museum Pass
- Honored at the Children’s Museum of Iowa’s annual Celebrate Play Gala
- Parents, students, fellow educators and community members are encouraged to nominate outstanding teachers, childcare providers and school staff who promote hands-on learning and inspire children to learn in creative ways. .
